The New York Red Bulls are one of 29 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.
The New York Red Bulls are looking for motivated college students who will support the Marketing Partnerships Sales team during the Spring 2024 semester (internship to begin in late January / early February and run through early May) The internship will provide college credit, and is a great learning opportunity for those interested in pursuing a career in the sports industry. Interns will gain knowledge and insight into a revenue-generating department within the sports industry, and will learn how the Marketing Partnerships Sales team creates custom partnerships that achieve a brand's business goals. Office hours during the week are flexible based on school/class schedule, but availability for Red Bulls home matches are mandatory (which may interfere with holidays and weekends).
Because of the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, your assigned hours may vary to reflect our needs (includes nights and weekends).
This is an unpaid, for credit internship (proof that you will receive credit is required).
Areas that play to your strengths
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
PROSPECTING
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the sports and entertainment partnership landscape Identify new brands that could be future New York Red Bulls partners Develop brand briefs for key prospects Learn key open categories and sales team priorities
PROPOSAL CREATION
Utlitze DigiDeck platfrom to create custom sales decks for prospects Write creative asset and platform descritpions Assist with asset mockups
CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS
Develop relationships with new clients and propects Work with clients to understand business objectives Manage both internal & external relationships
MEETING EXECUTION & PREPARATION
Collaborate with sales team on pitch preparation (meeting room setup, F&B, deliverables, presentation, etc.) Take detailed notes in meetings and pitches Assist with gifting needs Write bios on brand contacts prior to meeting
ACTIVATION TEAM SUPPORT
Collaborate with the Marketing Partnerships Activation Intern on gameday preparation Assist with client service needs and events Help with internal merchandise organization and office needs
