The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the strategic management and operational success of the team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Soccer Operations/General Manager, the individual in this role will assist in overseeing various aspects of the club's operations, including player personnel management, scouting, contract negotiations, and administrative functions. This is a full-time role in San Diego, California. Depending upon education, skill set, and experience, the annual base salary range is $120,000 - $135,000.


Role Responsibilities


  • Support VP of Soccer Ops/GM on Club matters, including Team Makeup, Trades and Draft, Salary Cap, Player Contracts, and Youth and Minor first team integration.
  • Assist in managing team salary cap, agent communication, and ensure effective management and delivery of player contractual obligations.
  • Oversee and support soccer operations team – player care, equipment, and administration.
  • Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention of soccer staff.
  • Ensure the Club maintains good standing with League and CBA requirements, including adhering to the NWSL Operations & Competition manuals.
  • Manage and monitor compliance with NWSL, CBA, and US Soccer regulations and procedures.
  • Oversee player immigration needs and facilitate smooth onboarding procedures in collaboration with the NWSL.
  • Communicate and enforce the guidelines outlined in the NWSL Operations & Competition Manuals to ensure adherence by all relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Manage and file player payroll, tracking overall expenditures with Wave Finance department.
  • Track the NWSL Competition Calendar and deadlines, including international and trade windows.
  • Ensure Club is well-positioned strategically to best support player movement, attendance at National Team camps/international competitions, and maximize efficiency of return-to-play planning post-international breaks.
  • Support development and approval of the annual soccer operations budget alongside VP of Soccer Ops/GM.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to all FIFA player regulations, competitions, and transfer calendars.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by VP of Soccer Ops/GM
  • Adapt quickly as business needs evolve.


QUALIFIED?


  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in sports management, with a focus on soccer operations.
  • Strong understanding of player recruitment, scouting, and contract negotiation process.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities and track record of successful team management.
  • Exceptional at building relationships both internally and externally.
  • Professional, positive, and proactive.
  • Passion for the success of Women’s Professional Sports.
