Launched in 2019, League One Volleyball (LOVB) is a mission-led sports performance, training and media lifestyle venture that will change the game of volleyball, the most popular sport for girls in the US.


LOVB is one holistic ecosystem for club and pro volleyball. We support athletes through their entire journey - from prep to pro. We are launching our professional league in the US from the grassroots up, with each pro team built from a foundation of ambitious junior clubs located across the country. We are paving a path to successful careers - both on and off the court.

The Role:

Our marketing & social media coordinator will be part of our LOVB in-house marketing team tasked to be the voice of the brand in the social space. You will create compelling messaging and activations to build and engage communities through the effective use of social media outlets. This role will help develop our social media strategy and plan/execute holistic and individual campaigns, across the LOVB brand and our diverse ecosystem of clubs and professional teams.


Key Activities and Skills:

  • Social Media
  • Work with marketing professionals to develop social media marketing campaigns that represent the brand voice
  • End to end content creation - plan, develop and produce unique content for a social media audience on various channels including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, YouTube and Snapchat
  • Create editorial day to day calendars of scripted content specific to objectives, customers and channel
  • Use of digital technologies to meet the goals of social media campaigns
  • Communication
  • Serve as social brand representative for all brand and related activities.
  • Interact with customers via social media channels to create a positive brand experience with strong engagement
  • Work directly with athletes, players and clubs, from youth to pro on content for the LOVB audience
  • Closely collaborate with our brand marketing, creative, subscriptions, media, and communications teammates

  • Create social media campaigns with various content on appropriate channel to amplify brand voice and storytelling
  • Drive engagement to educate, celebrate and inspire our community through the sport and culture of volleyball
  • Research
  • Generating engagement and promotional strategies, such as influencer marketing, generating organic traffic and paid advertising
  • Staying current on consumer, consumer behavior/motivation/values, trends, opportunities.
  • Setting and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for content and campaign success through engagement ratings, metrics, and analytics. Identify future opportunities.
  • Time Management
  • Ability to wear multiple hats - leading the support and social media needs of multiple business units with overlapping calendars.
  • Organizing tasks to meet deadlines is essential for this professional role. Social Media Managers work according to schedules to meet marketing and business goals.


Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, PR or related field
  • 2+ years managing social media in an agency or client side.
  • Huge passion and understanding of sports, particularly volleyball, but also NCAA Volleyball, WNBA, NWSL, ESPNW, Overtime Elite
  • Fluent written English to a high editorial standard
  • Expert level understanding and skills on all social media platforms including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, YouTube, Snapchat, etc..
  • Analytic summary and listening tools associated with all social media platforms (where applicable)
  • Strong content creation skills including graphic design, image/photo/video creation and editing, and copy writing. i.e. proven digital technology skillset in production and editing like Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, web design and production, etc..
  • Experience working with talent i.e. athletes, influencers, studio hosts, journalists

Passion and knowledge of the volleyball landscape and community are vital. You are able to manage multiple projects at once and hit deadlines. You are not afraid to test and learn - to bring newness and a strong voice that needs to cut through, while being consistent to our brand. You have a proven track record working within parameters to be a 1 stop media shop to deliver full campaigns.


Location:

  • Flexibility to work anywhere in the US (primarily over Zoom and digital platforms) with willingness to travel for regular offsites and other business-related destinations
  • Reports to the head of Marketing based in Pacific Standard Time
