Social Responsibility Senior Manager - Dallas Wings

Arlington, TX

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Social Responsibility will serve an integral role in amplifying the organization’s community and philanthropic efforts. The Senior Manager of Social Responsibility will work in collaboration with the Vice President of Social Responsibility to make a positive impact in marginalized communities through program curation and execution, having an impactful presence in the community promoting, in addition to increasing the organization’s philanthropic footprint throughout the North Texas region. The role will also contribute to the overall success of the organization by engaging in cross departmental functions where appropriate in a unified effort to reach business goals.


Essential Elements and Responsibilities:

Community Relations:

  • Aid in amplifying the organization’s overall community engagement strategy by:
  • being a thought leader in curating innovative community engagement programs and resources
  • amplifying pre/post game, in-game community-related activations
  • having an impactful presence throughout North Texas as change agents
  • Lead community-related elements as agreed to in partnership agreements in collaboration with the partnership activators
  • Manage and track staff and player community-related appearances
  • Oversee implementation and tracking of donation of goods and services
  • Oversee community tickets allocation and distribution; work with ticket sales department to foster group sales where appropriate
  • Assist in execution of key WNBA/NLL tentpole social responsibility community programs
  • Track and document program outcomes/impact for community initiatives
  • Assist with the development of the Annual Social Responsibility Report
  • Develop and foster meaningful relationships with community stakeholders
  • Serve as an internal liaison/support to the staff social justice committee


Foundation:

  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Dallas Wings and Panther City Lacrosse Community Foundations to include but not limited to:
  • program development and execution
  • fundraising
  • donor management
  • volunteer management
  • event planning
  • Assist with board governance tasks related to the Dallas Wing Community Foundation
  • Develop and manage fundraising auctions and related vendor relationships
  • Attend nonprofit fundraisers and events, and build relationships with organizations and key partners
  • Research best practices across top nonprofits and team foundations including fundraisers, grant process, programs, and events


General:

  • Attend ALL home games and community/foundation department led programs and events that may take place on weekend and holidays.
  • Schedule programming and event needs with marketing, digital, entertainment and social teams
  • Develop detailed reports and analysis of programs to showcase impact for internal and external audiences
  • Maintain a high level of content knowledge relating to best practice trends in WNBA community activation
  • Manage intern schedule and day-to-day responsibilities
  • Lead in-game community/foundation tabling


Required Skills, Experience and Abilities:

Job Requirements:

  • Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Relevant Work Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience with community engagement, sports philanthropy preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with partnerships and event planning
  • 2+ Previous fundraising/sales experience preferred.
  • 2+ Previous experience working with Foundations/non-profits preferred.
