Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Marketing, Business, Sports Management and/or Communications
  • 4-6 years of experience that provides aforementioned skills and abilities
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate ideas in both a written and verbal setting
  • Expert in industry knowledge and understanding of sports marketing vernacular and trends
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deliver assignments under a deadline
  • Ability to effectively and intelligently communicate with clients, internal strategy teams, OMG SBU’s and other agencies as needed
  • Ability, willingness, and flexibility to work beyond the normal hours of the traditional workday
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Efficiency, organization and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to perform and thrive in both a structured and unstructured environment
  • Strong working knowledge and passion for sports – follows various professional and/or collegiate leagues extensively
  • Strong level of background within the Television & Digital buying systems
  • Can be but not limited to DDS & Prisma
  • Understands process behind how advertising is purchased and negotiated


Responsibilities

The Supervisor reports directly to the Associate Director and serves as the direct line of communication with clients mainly around all facets of media investment. He/she will analyze, initiate, and oversee media investment and marketing strategies for assigned client(s). This can include the overall analysis of opportunities, evaluating if the investment is for fit for the client/brand objectives, negotiating best terms on behalf of the client, and in some cases managing day-to-day execution.

  • Develop broad understanding of clients’ businesses and needs
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate media packages and sponsorships as they relate to overall client business strategies
  • Proactive in identifying new projects and business opportunities with existing clients
  • Works in direct cooperation with respective strategy teams
  • Interacts with members of other SBU’s as the respective disciplines of those SBU’s are pertinent to proposed and executed media investments and sponsorship marketing strategies
  • Can be a direct contact for other Omnicom marketing and creative agencies involved on the sports business initiatives for each respective client
  • Manages junior staff (at any point 1-3 personnel) and is involved with evaluation of existing staff and consideration of potential employees
  • Responsible for continual briefing of unit Directors for the purpose of keeping their engagement in client initiatives, as well as for managing demands of Directors
  • Travels as required for presentations, meetings and other client or industry events
  • Core competencies include analyzing linear and digital media plans, negotiating all aspects of media investments, evaluating sponsorship proposals, and helping strategy teams manage client services
  • Assist strategy & research teams in creating decks and word documents that convey investment recommendations
  • Works with research team and research tools from relevant databases to assist in client needs when related to a negotiation or investment


Compensation Range: $50,000 - $95,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
